Bella Morte Rating: 1 Tombstone
Mount Olivet is located directly adjacent to Oak Hill Cemetery. Despite the fact that it is owned by nearby Saint Phillip’s Catholic Church, the cemetery grounds and all interment records are maintained by Oak Hill.
Had it not been that we were in the area visiting Oak Hill, we’d certainly not have spared the few minutes it takes to investigate Mount Olivet. Outside the presence of some lovely trees, the cemetery’s only offering of merit is the centrally located crucifix.
It’s hard to resist investigating a cemetery when it lays a stone’s throw from another burial ground and we encourage you to do just that when you espy Mount Olivet while exploring Oak Hill. Unless you are there to visit deceased family or friends, for genealogical research or to take a nap, though, we suspect you won’t need more than twenty minutes to take it in.
